Yay!!! Go Red Sox!!!!!!

Hi all! As usual, I have been a real slacker on my posting here. Life happens, right? At least I have something joyous to write about today.... The Boston Red Sox won the world series (or as Parker would say, the world serious) last night. They swept the Colorado Rockies. Mike is beyond thrilled. I am happy because I don't have to deal with the post-season depression of my husband. He will probably still go through withdrawal since he has nothing to watch now, but at least he can have the satisfaction of knowing that his boys are the champions until next March (or is it April?)
Parker is doing well. He just had his 4 year check up this morning (yes, I know it should have been in March, but he broke his arm and everything got all out of whack). I am happy to report that he weighs 48 pounds and is 45 inches tall. He was also a brave little boy when he got 4 shots (two in each arm). Let me add that we all got flu shots on Sat so that means that he had a total of five shots in three days. Poor thing.
Speech therapy is going so well that Miss Jennifer thinks that he is going to be wrapped up in the next week or so. They were planning on him hitting his goals by the end of the school year, but I am so excited to tell you that he has improved by leaps and bounds and has hit all of his goals in about two months. AMAZING!!! Next time you see him you will notice how much clearer he speaks. I am so proud of him.
My girls trip to Miami has also come and gone. I had a fun time. I never knew Miami was so hot and sticky, year round. Makes me glad to be in GA. I have some funny stories about the trip. We stayed at the famous Fontainebleau Resort. It was an ocean view suite and was oh so nice. Veronica hooked us up. She is also the greatest tour guide ever. Her and her boyfriend Chris showed us more than I could have asked for. We also ate some really good food and I enjoyed my first mojito. Yum-O!

One year down....

Well, Mike and I celebrated our one year anniversary this weekend. What a quick year. It seems like it was just yesterday. To celebrate, we left the crazy city and went away to a cabin tucked away in the woods right outside of Helen, GA. What a great way to escape.
We carried out the usual tradition of eating the cake topper and toasting with champagne. The cake was ok, but we drank the champagne that I had won from Carnival last year on our cruise. After one sip, it was apparent why they were giving the stuff away. It was NASTY! Luckily, Mike felt the same and we poured it all out and went back to our reisling and beer.
After an extended four day weekend, I had a really hard time getting up and going to work this morning. I do have good news though. I finished our wedding scrapbook! I worked on it for about 8 hours yesterday and, at 9 25 p.m. last night, I put the finishing touches on the last page. What a relief! I am so excited and proud of my work. Feel free to ask me about it next time you see me!
Here's to many more years!!!!!

Wow! I suck at this!

Gosh. I haven't posted anything for over a month. Ok, I promise to get better at this. Parker started pre k and is doing fabulous. He has learned about the four senses, saying please and thank you, family, farm animals, and community helpers. He is getting along well in a class of 7 girls and 4 boys.

The Jacobs Family tree now has another leaf on it. Baby Ella made her debut on August 28, 2007 and weighed in at a whopping 8 pounds 14 oz. She is absolutely precious. Caroline is a proud big sister.

Amy started a new hobby. She is a Creative Memories scrapbooking consultant. http://www.mycmsite.com/sites/amyjacobs If anyone is interested in booking a party, please let me know. Scrapbooking has become my new obsession. My first endeavor is my wedding album. I am finally tackling the 1000 or so photos I have from the big event. It is a pretty hard task to weed out photos given that we such a fantabulous looking group of folks in our wedding party.

Mike is biting his nails and watching each Boston Red Sox game as if it were the last. It think we are only up on the Yankees by 4 and a half games. I, knowing nothing about baseball, could be completely wrong on this though so don't quote me. Mike says that if they blow this lead, it would be the greatest upset since '76. I think. Don't quote me on that either.

Well, I guess that is about all for right now. I do need to add in some images from my girls night with Anne and Angie. These girls are my bestest friends. As you can see, they dressed up in wedding dresses, I opted out and wore a veil.

Later!

I'm already slacking....

See, I haven't updated in 4 days. I am such a slacker. Oh well...
It has been a busy week at the Jacobs' house. Parker has been busy with tumbling camp this week. Mommy went to see the big finale show today and will post pictures tonight. Parker can hop like a froggy, do forward rolls, and skip in a straight line. Miss Dominique has the patience of a saint- that's all I have to say about that.
Mike has been defending the drunks of Atlanta while Amy has been dealing with so particularly crazy weirdos. People who think that the goverment is spying on them or feel that they have had a chip placed in their brain and having their entire life recorded. You think I am kidding? Unfortunately not.
Well, this weekend should be fun. Jack and Katy are coming into town and we have Stephanie's baby shower. Baby Ella is now due on August 28. Yay!

Crazy Summer

Well, this marks our slow and steady steps into the ever changing world of technology...we officially have a blog. Crazy how all of this new stuff works. Maybe this blog will force me to take more pictures and upload them instead of keeping them stored away somewhere for no one to see (Um, hello wedding pictures). But enough about that.

This week we are glad to have Parker back home after a fun and crazy week in Arkansas. He saw motorcycles, tractors, farm animals, catfish, and learned about the joys of a Sonic milkshake. Next time you see him, ask him to tell you a story about what all he saw. Many thanks to my mom, or Mimi, for planning such an awesome vacation for the little man.

Parker starts tumbling camp today. I will take pictures and get them uploaded ASAP. This will be a good way for him to get out that extra energy and practice his listening skills. He will need those here in a few weeks. As we all know, he starts Pre-K in two weeks! I can't believe it!

Well, that is all for right now. Let's see how well I do at keeping this thing updated.
